Studying Medicine in Canada for Saudis: Dalhousie Sponsored Seats
Studying medicine in Canada is hard for international students, but Dalhousie University has a dedicated stream for Saudis.
The dedicated seats
According to the Dalhousie Faculty of Medicine, the university offers a limited number of first-year positions at the Halifax campus only under the sponsored streams (Saudi and Kuwaiti). Canadian citizens and permanent residents are not eligible for these streams.
Official requirements
- Minimum GPA of 3.3
- An MCAT score within the past 5 years
- CASPer on the designated dates
- Five short-answer questions in Section 2 of the online application
How are applicants scored?
A 90-point scale: GPA (15), MCAT (10), short answers (25) and the MMI interview (40). Applicants indicate their intent to be considered under the Saudi sponsored positions, and offers are conditional on sponsorship confirmation from the cultural bureau.
Conditions change each cycle, so check the university site before applying.
