2027 US Green Card Lottery (DV-2027) Registration Date: Has It Opened?
No, registration for the 2027 US Green Card Lottery (Diversity Visa) has not opened yet. On 14 October 2026, a US federal court ordered the State Department to open it. These are court-set deadlines, not yet officially announced by the Department, whose own page still says the start date will be announced later:
| Item | Date |
|---|---|
| Publish registration details and official website | Before 29 October 2026 |
| Registration opens | By 1 November 2026, for at least 30 days |
| Selected entrants notified | By 3 December 2026 |
| Visa issuance ends | 30 September 2027 |
Registration is done only on the US State Department official website, and we submit your entry there on your behalf.
2027 US Green Card Lottery Eligibility Requirements
- Eligible country of birth. What counts is your country of birth, not your nationality or residence (limited exceptions exist, such as relying on the birth country of your spouse or a parent under the official rules). The DV-2027 eligible countries list has not been published yet.
- High school education (12 years) or two years of work experience within the last 5 years in an occupation requiring at least two years of training.
- A valid passport and a scanned copy of it. This is new from DV-2027 under the federal rule published on 11 March 2026 (FR Doc. 2026-04737).
Residents of Saudi Arabia can register if their country of birth is eligible.
Important note on visa issuance: Under State Department guidance updated 31 August 2026, issuance of all Diversity Visas is temporarily paused, with no exceptions. Applicants can still apply and attend interviews, but no visas are issued during the pause. This is separate from DV-2027 registration and does not cancel it, but it may change, so follow official announcements before any financial or travel decision. We will tell you about any update.

How to Register for the 2027 US Green Card Lottery
- Send us your documents (passport, personal photo and your details) and we review them as soon as possible.
- We notify you as soon as registration opens on the official website.
- We submit your entry and add your spouse and all unmarried children under 21.
- We hand you the confirmation number; you cannot check the result without it.
- Submit one entry only. Duplicate entries disqualify all of your entries.
Checking the Result and Avoiding Scams
The result appears only in the Entrant Status Check on the official website using your confirmation number. The US government does not send winning emails or messages, and any message asking for money after you "won" is a scam.
Almorad is a private office, not a government body. Selection in the lottery is entirely random; nobody can guarantee a win or a visa, and our service does not increase your chances of winning.
